Triumph Over Trials

In an inspiring display of resilience and determination, we proudly share the story of Sitti, a survivor nurtured under the Voice of the Free Foundation. Against all odds, she achieved her dream and became a beacon of hope for others.

On May 27, 2023, Sitti defied adversities to join the Class of 2023, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education, Major in English. Furthermore, she was honored with an Academic Excellence Award, an inspiring testament to her dedication and relentless pursuit of her dreams.

Sitti's journey wasn't easy. Initially, she sought overseas employment while still in senior high school to save for college and support her family. However, her dreams were almost derailed when she was offloaded at the airport due to suspicious travel documents provided by her recruiter.

Thanks to VF's help, Sitti's academic ambitions were revived. Not only did she complete her education, but she also started giving back immediately after graduation, mentoring and tutoring other girls at the Center of Hope. Sitti's triumph went beyond her graduation; she had already begun her career as a teacher.
