VF-EFCP Ink MOA on Child Abuse Prevention & Reporting
The Evangelical Free Church of the Philippines (EFCP) and the VF recently signed a MOA that supports shared social ministries that empower communities to protect women and children from trafficking, abuse and exploitation.
Composed of more than 200 churches planted in source communities across the country, EFCP exists to glorify God by multiplying healthy-indigenous churches in collaboration with like-minded people and organizations, in the Philippines and beyond.
According to the EFCP President Bishop Ariel Jornales, the MOA stipulates
“sharing of information and resources to ensure effective services delivery, and protection of vulnerable groups during disasters and emergency situations. EFCP shall co-organize with VF pastor capacity-building activities to equip them to effectively respond to reported cases and help in spiritual growth and counseling of survivors.”
Last January 2023, EFCP member churches in Pasig, Cainta, Tanay and Taytay conducted a joint awareness seminar for 30 women and youth leaders held at the Redeemed Christian Fellowship (RCF). They committed to report to VF if they encounter cases of child abuse in the communities to facilitate services to victims.
RCF Pastor King de Vera and his wife have also started biblical counseling sessions for the children at the center to enhance spiritual resiliency in their healing process.
